We spent several days on Mount Prekornica with professors from the Faculty of Forestry in Belgrade, from whom we learned one of the languages of trees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We learned how to find and properly read the biological textbooks in which trees, through their rings, describe their most comfortable years (wide rings) and their most challenging ones (very narrow, almost invisible rings).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We came across the autobiographies of Bosnian pines that describe over a hundred years of the past.\r\n\r\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From the professors, the pines, and the mountain itself, we learned a great deal, and we will do our best in the coming days to share that knowledge with the children participating in our nature camp on Studeno.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The dendrochronological research on Bosnian pine trees is part of the project \u201cFrom educating and connecting children with nature, through dendrochronological research, to raising awareness about climate change over the past few centuries in Montenegro\u201d<\/em>, which is co-financed by the European Union and the Government of Montenegro.<\/p><\/p>\n\n\n\n
